Hi
My mom had one fitted last year and it took them three days. It is definitely worth it though xThe toast proposed at our wedding was for "health, wealth and happiness". Our family may not have the health and wealth but we make up for it with the happiness:D

Please don't think this is a quick process! It will be a long while yet.
The next step will probably be that Social services write up the recommendation, draw the design of the wetroom and then send it to you to sign, and you then send back to them. The Occupational Therapist would then send it to the adaptations officer - so this process could take awhile.
From there, it completely depends on the council and their policies and how long the waiting list is. My local council takes about 5 months, but to be honest this is on the good side. Some areas can take up to two years. You have to remember there are often hundreds of people on the waiting list, some wanting things like extensions, and others smaller jobs, so they all have to be fitted in.
Once you know it is with the adaptations officer, I would ask the rough wait time and go from there.
I've seen finished ones and they're quite nice! I think they have a chair for the disabled person to sit in, under the shower, and you usually have choice of colours from the floor/tiles."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Mine took about 6 months from start to finish to go through the process - I am an owner occupier so not sure if that makes a difference. Mine got deon just after April when their new budget was allocated too as think the money wasnt there before then. I got a choice of tiles and floor covering - It looks great. I t took the contractor about a week intotal to complete the work , they had to partition off part of a bedroom to begin with.
I kept on at the council, as I heard if you dont they just dragged their heels.
Good LuckNo Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Mine took 3 months from start to finish but I was counted as priority because of my disabilities and the same with the stairlift.
It will depend on whether they have the money available to fund your wetroom.
