Hello. I'd try CAB again. Can you not contact them by e-mail? Try http://www.citizensadvice.co.uk/advice/index.htm. There's a form for you to input the data you've listed here. Bankruptcy is an option, but as has already been said, you'll need a couple of hundred ££ (probably won't need to pay the £150 court fee, though, as you're on low income - check with your nearest County Court).

Alternatively, CAB can assist you in drawing up a financial statement, which will likely show that you've nothing to offer creditors. You can then make token payments, such as £1/month. This will be until your situation / health improve, when offers can be increased. It would stand in your favour if you start making these payments now. If your creditors don't accept them, refer them back to your financial statement which shows you can't afford more, and continue making payments.

    Does this make sense?

    Best of luck, Penny. xx

I sympathise and agree you need to keep on at the benefits agency.

I'd post a thread on the benefits board about this to get some advice on the housing benefit underpayment. or as said try CAB again.
youre a single parent with one child the law says you need a certain amount per week to live off, i think its £118. why arent you getting full housing benefit? is the property too big, or is this to repay previous overpayment? if its to repay an overpayment would you be able to appeal about the amount they are clawing back each month?

one small point, youve listing your monthly outgoings but arent those benefits paid four weekly or weekly. if you adjust them to be monthly your income is £616.
