I don't see how you are in this mess, you should be getting enough to live on. Chase up the benfits agency.

who do you rent from. A council?

Do you get HB paid directly to you? Or does it go to the LL?

On the plus side, ( there is one, honestly) when the benefits turn up, you will get a fairly large lump sum, that should sort lots of stuff out.

No a land lord and it comes to me.

Also you could get social fund loan for £1,000 to tide you over.

    Ok

    Right, so, lets see.

Firstly, if you are having trouble budgeting anyway, could you get the HB sent direct to the landlord, then its the extra bit of arrears that are left to you. You cant live on your rent, i have done this and its really, a bad idea, so if theres anyway you can get this done, this really might help.

Have you seen the CAB about giving the benefits agency a kick up the rear, this HAS to be your priority to get this cash to you asap
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Social fund loans are to pay for actual things such as a washing machine or furniture ( used to be called budgeting loans) Crisis loans are for living on if you genuinely have no cash, ie perfect for your situation.

How long has your claim been going through?
I'd get on the phone and not get off until they can give you a date - do anything, cry, demand a manager.. anything.. they cannot leave you in this situation!

I phone every day. Put it this way it took incapacity benefit 2 weeks before they even got my claim, what ever happened I don't know. I phoned housing benefit today and the girl who is dealing with my claim informed me she had been away on a holiday for 2 weeks and has a very heavy back log. (Nice For Some) But even in saying that when I do get all my benefits through I'll have money to live yes, but I'm still screwed in my current position.
