It depends on the Council Nottingham Council insist that they must be on high rate mobility to get the badge.
I would say however that I hope you are going to appeal the decision as my daughter has the same condition and gets high rate care and mobility after I appealed and they have awarded it until she is 16.#1200 - Sealed Pot challenge £1263/£300

But it's not the condition that gets you the award, it's the needs arising from it. Spina bifida, as I'm sure you are aware, affects people in different ways, from issues with incontinence, to complete inability to walk, so not everyone with it is going to get HRC and mobility, so it's not right to advise people to appeal without knowing the circumstances, appeal doesn't just go one way, it can also lead to awards being lowered/removed and can be extremely stressful and ongoing.0 -
i was going to appeal as tbh im not entirely happy with the award.. however its just too close to xmas and that money is going to be needed so i have decided not to bothere appealing!
thanks for all the info about the badges0 -

what i want to know is am i eligable for the blue badge?
thanks
Its also worth noting that councils are clamping down hard on Blue Badges because there are too many issued and not enough spaces.0 -
It depends on your local council
My daughter applied got turned down and then appealed and got one. She didnt have DLA then but she gets full mobility component now but that was around year later
She had to pay a couple of quid I think for it and supply two photo's, she just got it redone in August and had to pay again despite getting full rate DLA, its a admin fee0
