My October All-in-one plan

I'm 31 and for as long as I can remember I've been saying "I going be healthy / toned / organised (or whatever) by my birthday". Well I'm 32 next May and if I don't stop and take control over my own life, I think I will be forever saying this.

Ok, here goes.... I've decided to do my own progress plan. While I love MSE, I find that I can get lost in all the forum posts and lose a whole night on here. I've got lots of challengers on the go and trying to keep up with each thread is becoming harder, so I doing my very own section just for me, fell free to ignore me..... or post your own.

This is for October;

lose 5 pounds this month in weight. start weight (31/sept @ 8.30pm- 9st 9pds 8oz)"nd weighing in (7 Oct @ 8.30pm 9st 7pds & 6oz) Weight Loss So Far weighing in (28 Oct @ 6.20pm 9st 6pds) 3 pounds 8 oz / 5 pounds target
only spend 240 pound on food / household spend 24.99 / 240
stick to my food plan for the month, which is based around my cupboards and freezer contents. 15 / 31
Don't eat any sweets, crisp or biscuits 11 / 31
drink at least 4 glass of water a day to start 4 / 31
do 3 lots of exercise or toning sessions per week 4 / 12
play guitar every day for 30mins 1 / 31
practice crochet daily 3 / 31
get up before 7am - 6 / 31
wash up, prepare clothes & packed lunches (weekdays) for next day 7 / 31
Do hair / make up daily & take it off on a night time 13 / 31
Get my week day flyladies stars 7 / 22
Limit coffee to before 4pm 4 / 31

I promise to update daily, and I may add more if I can think of any, but really I think that is enough to be going on with.

I'm a stay at home mam of two children, my daughter is 5 and my son is 3. They are very good children and love to help, they can fight and be tormenting, but they don't throw tantrums or things like. My other half works but hates and when I say hates I mean he HATES his job, he works for a call center and it's destroying his soul, bless him. We have our rough patches (one very recent), but in general we have a good relationship.

Why did I decide to do this, at this point in time, well as I said earlier I spend a lot of time on the forums and not concentrating on me. I recently been to the doctors and started a course of AD, which I've been on for two weeks, they meant to really kick in by week three. I feel slightly more positive, so why not. If I just have it as a text file on my laptop - then I'll probably not stick to it and I really want to do this.

You know what I keep thinking about doing something about XYZ. After a particuarly bad day I think that this is just what I need to get my life in order.

I haven't been able to weigh myself for about a year at home as the battery is gone on the scales, but I will try to get that sorted as I would love to loose some weight.

lose 5 pounds this month in weight. start weight (still tbc think I am scared about this one!)
    only spend 150 pound on food / household spend. 10.30 / 150.00
stick to my food plan for the month, which is based around my cupboards and freezer contents. 3 / 31
Don't eat any sweets, crisp or biscuits 3 / 31
drink at least 4 glass of water a day to start 2/ 31 (I am counting chamomile tea as water as I can't drink plain water)
do 1 lot of exercise or toning sessions per week 0/ 4 (I know this is not quite where it should be but it's a start)
Do hair / make up daily & take it off on a night time 3 / 31
Limit coffee to before 4pm and max 3 cups per day 3/ 31 Only one cup today but am having a huge withdrawl headache now as usually have 6+ cups

I'm a SAHM to my ds (22 months) and trying to feel more like me again.

Good luck everyone who joins with their personal challenge. x
  • I just want to wish you both the best of luck. I will be keeping an eye on your progress. I really need to get motivated and make some life changing decisions myself.
    Good luck:j

Vikki I can totally relate to wanting to feel like me again. I feel like I've lost my identity. I love my children to bits, but since they have been born I've been there mam and not Kelly, I'm at the point where I don't know who I am or what I like, as my life is about getting them to xyz or doing stuff for oh, I know it may sounds selfish but I feel if I accomplish this I will be a more happier mam/Kelly.

Anyway I got up before seven when my alarm first went off instead of snoozing for an hour (my kids like to sleep) and running around like a blue !!! fly so I'm off to put their clothes on their beds and then I'm going to do my hair and make up.

Good luck with today's challenge / plan.

thanks for wishing us luck, if you feel like joining in at any point with your own plan, then great the more the merrier.

oohh I like the idea of counting how many days a month I can go without chocolate, rather than just seeing how long I can go without, day after day - if you get what I mean!

Your way seems much more managable.
    Eat no chocolate/biscuits/anything sweet! 0/31
Do the wii fit for 30 minutes 0/12
Stick to the meal plan 0/31

So do we just come and update daily?
Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j

kjmtidea I was going to update maybe once twice a day, but it's up to you. I got quite a few on my list that's why I was going to come on and do updates more than once.

I'm just about to write them out and put it somewhere I can see it, maybe the fridge, then I'll choose healthy options, although I haven't got any "junk" in, my problem is I have a corner shop practically on my door step, so I go there and then pig out:eek:

Well I was planning to go to the gym today when the little one was at nursery (oh they grow up so fast) but when he woke up he was crying saying his leg hurt (I think he had cramp) but he won't walk on it and he said he didn't want to go to nursery, so lucky oh is off work so I could take dd to school. I now off to do my flylady list, good luck for today

I only wish I had to put getting up early on the list. My ds has never slept in, he usually wakes around 5am!!! and still doesn't sleep through regularly. I'm hoping that this is something that will gradually improve!
  • I have just skimmed yout first post huston and I am so bursting to say that I am feeling so similar at the moment. I will be 32 next July and I am around the same weight as you but I haven´t weighed myself, just guessing and would like to lose about 5lbs as part of my October plan. I am really into walking and pilates but because it got so hot during the summer here (Spain) I kind of lost my way. I am also a sahm to seven year old twins. I am going to cut out coffee and allow myself one cup of tea everyday. I found that for me there is a connection between drinking tea/coffee and eating biscuits, cakes and choc, they all go hand in hand.

Good luck to all you ladies, I will follow your progress and join in when I can. I know this sounds a bit thick but what does all the "0/31" etc mean:o?

Be careful about cutting out coffee, if you stop suddenly it can give you huge headaches and general hangover type symptoms. I found out a few weeks ago the hard way!

The 0/31 is how many days this was achieved out of 31 days in October. Or that is what I think it means lol!

Yeah it's how many days in the month, or how many days I want to do it in the month ie 12 days exercise

    :)

    Cos, you can join in.

The flylady stars are from the OS board - pigpen the op gives you a list of jobs to do each week day (today was bathroom) and if you do the days list you get a star (they tally it up) I've getting 3 this week so far - it's basically a cleaning rota, it's cool and they're a friendly bunch - there's a new thread each Sunday

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1973923 this is a link to this weeks, it can get quite addictive reading the post though
