Help plz lost something from desk top

Hi i have a dell inspiron running visata home basics

i was having a little clean up to myself today lol and i seem to have lost ......the strip off icons which are normally on the top off the screen on the desk top which usually has the recycle bin icon email icon pictures etc and a few others which i cannot remember but it was handy to have

anybody any ideas how i can reinstate it ?

Well, I don't know if this will do the trick but its worth a try: right click anywhere on the desktop screen, menu will appear, select 'View' and make sure 'show the desktop icons' is ticked. Hope this helps.

just tried that thanks the view only gives options to make icons large small etc

i have my ordinary icons...iam talking about this pannel off icons that used to be along the top off the desktop ? anybody ? plz

Do you have a folder named "Unused Desktop Shortcuts" on your desktop - sometimes the unused icons cleanup wizard puts them in there.

Have you been using RocketDock or something? Windows doesn't have such a feature in and of itself.

I think there might be a Dell variant of that called Dell Dock

aaaahaaa lol dell dock rang a bell ...earlier when i was doing a clean up i was trying to stop some programmes running at start up and i remember disabling it

thanks guys/gals got back now ..there seems to be so many programmes in there that iam not sure what i need at start up or not

any help there ? plz
