dvdzoom.co.uk have wrongly advertised goods and mis-sold me dvds

I cannot get in contact with dvdzoom.co.uk and have tried both of their emails addresses. I ordered 3 Disney DVD's, 2 of which had the latest covers advertised but when I received them they were 'gold classics' and from Thailand. The 3rd DVD has 'only for sale in USA' on the back of it! I was expecting genuine Region 2 DVD's and now I cannot get hold of them to return these DVD's. Any ideas?

There web site does not comply with The UK's E-commerce Regulations

    Minimum information to be provided

Service providers, whether involved in e-commerce or not, should provide the following minimum information, which must be easily, directly and permanently accessible:
    • The name of the service provider must be given somewhere easily accessible on the site. This might differ from the trading name and any such difference should be explained – e.g. "XYZ.com is the trading name of XYZ Enterprises Limited."
    • The email address of the service provider must be given. It is not sufficient to include a 'contact us' form without also providing an email address.
    • The geographic address of the service provider must be given. A PO Box is unlikely to suffice as a geographic address; but a registered office address would. If the business is a company, the registered office address must be included in any event.
    • If a company, the company's registration number should also be given.
    • If a company, the place of registration should be stated (e.g. "XYZ Enterprises Limited is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 1234567") though this is a requirement of the Companies Act as from 31st December 2006, not the E-commerce Directive.

I have had the same problem with DVD yes. (I think they are same as DVD ZOOM). I ordered Genesis - When in Rome 2007 3 disk, region 2 DVD set. I got 2 disk region 9 version from Thailand. I have emailed DVD yes for instructions for return & refund as this item is not as advertised. I am getting nowhere!
    Anyone got any advise?
  • If you have bought your dvd's/cd's and used paypal you can use there dispute service, I have just had the same problem with dvdyes and when I have contacted them through the paypal dispute service I have got a refund agreed within hours of sending the request.:j

I too bought from DVDYes (who used to trade as snappyDVD.co.uk) using Paypal thinking I would be protected - how wrong I was! Paypal have advised they only accept "not as described" claims from EBay buyers and will only enter into disputes for items bought outside of EBay if the item is not received.

I challenged them on this and today they have replied saying "Every case has been noted and taken as a report against the seller. The
case will be reopened if we will receive multiple complaints against the
merchant within 180 days". So, at least if enough people complaint to them they may stop procesing payments for this company.

But no refund for me it seems!
