Getting outlook express working. Grrrrrr!

Options
I'm able to turn my computer on and post messages on here but thats as far as my expertise goes. On that basis, can anyone please explain to me how the hell i get outlook express 6 to actually work on my PC. I'm on XP and when i try to get the outlook to work, i keep getting error messages that say that it can't find my incoming and outgoing server details and to verify them in the advanced tab under more settings. Okay if i knew what the !!!! that meant. Can anyone give me a simple set of instructions to get this working please? I'm on Virgin media m if you need to know...

Kind regards, RD.

  • Outlook Express has been discontinued and replaced with Windows Live Mail so you might well want to consider using that instead.

Actually since I posted this request I've now installed Microsoft office standard 2007 and, after following the idiots guide, it still won't work properly. It sent the first two messages out and then zilch. I can't reply to outlook either. I really don't know what's wrong......

  • use mozilla thunderbird, its a much better alternative to the evil microsoft software. all the additional functionality can be added with plugins or add ons.
