Blair, well done on the heating! :T I know in one sense it's not funny but your sig always makes me laugh - it's good to see the humour in things :T
Thanks Nyk, will take a look now.
And thanks for the '0ld chestnut' link Grandma, I love finding out where sayings/words come from. When I'm richI'm going to get myself a book on etymology :j then I can bore my pupils :rotfl:
Going to pop on over to the It's Tough Now thread, thanks for the heads up but before I do, I have a confession....

Lovely confession bailsa child will be the most expensive, frustrating, time consuming, and life changing thing you have ever done BUT it ranks up there as number one above anything else you will ever embark on in your life... good luck when the time comes:D

Good morning to all
Bails... :eek::eek::eek: :rotfl::beer:
It's day 2 of my great turkey leg experiment that's being debated elsewhere, so I'm determined to beat all guesstimates. If I go by government statistics then 3.5 litres of soup should be almost 16 servings, I'll round down to 15, plus last night's risotto easily served 4 (someone's having it for lunch today!) so that's technically 19 meals out the one turkey leg so far. We always have bread with our hm soup, so it's filling enough for lunch. Sadly, we seem to be pigs here, so a 220ml serving would be frowned upon, but I am definitely going to restrict my portion size as that's what's losing me weight. :j (6lb this month so far but I haven't declared on the weight loss thread yet so shhhh.... don't tell Bails & BB etc)
Today's turkey challenge is pie making. I was tempted by the curry but with the risotto last night plus the rice in the soup, I'm running out of rice! :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Oh rats! That's nothing, though... BAILS IS BROOOOOOOOOODY!!! :rotfl:
Guess I'd better go and declare the loss in case I put it back on before tomorrow morning.
Blairweech - I can't find that thread either, can you post a link so we can pinch some of their ideas, please?I never saw the Jimmy programme, I don't think, but I was talking to someone recently that spends £100 a week on their shopping in the false belief that because they shop at Wa!tr0se, it must be much better quality (processed) food they're buying!
Just read the news about the Indian summer & heatwave - has anyone actually seen any evidence of this? It's miserable, cold, raining and I'll need to light the fire to take the chill off the air here. What are these people on that they can seriously think the whole of the UK has the same weather?

:rotfl: is that the definition of broody? Knowing that I want kids with my lovely man?! Well, if it is then I'm guilty
I always thought some kind of alien took over your body or something :rotfl:

Has anyone heard how 2trs mum is? If you are reading I hope all is ok.
I hope everyone is well, everyone sounds to have been busy. Ooo SM congratulations on the egg. I hope we can have chickkies next year, could not do it this year.
we had a lovely week in Mablethorpe. Just Wednesday was wet but we did the rounds of the charity shops and got a few bargains each. We also went to Louth and did the charity shops there too, I have never seen so many in such a small place! I bought a cord skirt for £2.99 and a large piece of heavy knit material for 50p which I will turn into a skirt and top. I got a book I have been after for twenty years ,Una stubbs In Stitches for a pound. There were three of them so I pick the one in mint condition. I am itching to sew something now.

Afternoon everyone.
Just updated my savings signature. It doesn't look that good and its kind of frustrating me that its not going up any faster, but there's not much point in worrying about it. It'll happen when it does. I do need to keep spending on stupid stuff though, as I'm sure half of what I've spent this month could have been avoided! I need to plan my meals better I think, that's one of the big downfalls in my budget.
Another NSD under my belt today, just one more needed to meet my target for October. I really enjoy the NSD challenge, and seem to be getting my target every month now. I should really increase it - I might be really daring and push it up to 14 for November :rotfl:
Uni is going okay, just busy and finding it hard to muster up enthusiasm when I'm tired and its raining and just miserable outside. I'd rather be tucked up in my dressing gown reading a good book but I know that's not going to happen any time soon really! I do have time for myself though, but most of that is spent talking to the BF and organising things for the next day! Oh well, I guess I'll have to get used to that.
I hope everyone is okay, I am reading but as usual can't really remember what I was going to say to everyone!
