    Frugal living and offering support
Nyk-... I loved the photo of your place but was curious to know who hiked up the hillside to take it..it looks beautiful but I know your life is not ALL ABOUT GLAMOUR.

HS went up the hill - I thought I could see a pony in the distance and he thought it was a cow; he didn't believe me, so he went for a closer look. Being a complete horse-nut who can spot an equine a mile away, I was right, so I got the house photo as settlement. :rotfl: Life here is anything but glamourous, I can assure you of that.
Well, gone over my aim for the year. Current total stands at £3020.37 :(

SF, step away from that sad face - you did great! :T

I received my passport today :D  :j :T Can't believe how quickly it came through, considering I had my interview on Thursday morning, and Friday-Monday were not working days!!

That is brilliant! I, umm, err... chickened out of sending off my application and, for now, have decided not to bother. I think it could cause too many problems if I decided I wanted to go anywhere, what with family, HS and livestock. :o If the world cruise comes within easy reach, then I'll reconsider! :rotfl:

Hope everyone is doing OK on this, the very final day of the 2009 challenge. I'll be requesting this thread be closed very soon but have already linked to the new one from page/post one and HERE

My freezer top is covered in stuff defrosting for tomorrow's festive feast plus, hopefully, the Saturday festive feast with parents, if they can make the journey through the blizzards they've been getting. Clootie dumpling being prepared but won't make anything else until I know who will all be here.

Hogmanay celebrations looking rather scant, unless the visiting neighbours first foot us. What does everyone else do to celebrate?

Late lunch - oops, I forgot until HS mentioned it! :o:rotfl:Quick survey shows last of a homemade loaf, cheese, tomatoes... easy pizza grills methinks. Back later to catch up fully. :D
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

SF - you have still done very very well even if you are over your target.

    Thanks :)

SF - Do not worry about only being £20 over your target, you have still done soooooooo so so so so well to live on even close to £3000!!!! Think how many other people of our age could do that? Especially considering you have started your PGCE and are travelling to see your BF. I know I'm impressed!

I know, I should be pleased! Thanks :)

Wishing you all a wonderful New Year, I hope it is a frugal and happy 2010 for you all xxx

We went paragliding today, which was an AWESOME way to end the year I recovered :0) Who knows where next year will take us, but guaranteed it'll be an adventure!

Thanks so much for all your support, friendship and laughs over the last 2 years; being part of this thread has made a massive difference to my life and I look forward to sharing the next year with you.

Don't forget to include the 4k Meet in your budgets for 2010 ;0) I for one will definitely be there!

Loads of love to you all

Here's hoping for a fabulous, fun-filled yet frugal 2010 for us all!
  • Well I've got my spreadsheet all ready to go starting from tomorrow.
Diesel tank is full (I did this today to save a bit of VAT - not for this challenge). No DDs to come out until the 4th so I want to celebrate the new year by starting with three NSDs before those DDs leave the account.
A friend has a birthday in a couple of weeks so I will need to spend something for that.
I'm looking forward to the challenge a bit more this year. Last year I wasn't really ready for it due to a lifetime of frivolity but I've changed a few bad habits in the last year.
Is the challenge starting a new thread for tomorrow or is it continuing on this one?
