Thrifty - Very jealous of your recipients, those gifts are lovely!!!

Not much going on here, am winding down after 3 12 hours shifts. 12 o clock start tomorrow though, so massive lie in. However, it does mean an 8 o clock finish :( :( as we are having the trucks replaced, so cannot start picking until midday.

AND...I am working until 8pm on Christmas Eve. It is meant to be really very busy indeed, we are picking 3 days worth of orders in half a day! I'm so glad I'm leaving soon, they are really trying to squeeze every last drop of blood out of everyone now (after taking away all of our bonuses).

Went to Mr T last night and got a few things reduced, plus managed to use a couple of coupons. I have done most of my Christmas shopping online this year, has worked out pretty cheap.

Now I'm just relaxing with the tree lights on, some candles....bliss :D

  • evening all,
snowing here too at the moment. Looks lovely especially with christmas almost here, most gifts bought but still a few small things to buy-budget gone over what i had planned but not too bad. Still got to do my big big shop- thats ok though because i have saved £100 in supermarket stamps (mostly by £5 mr m petrol vouchers so plan to do that again next year).
still trying to get my head round next years budget as i was total pants at it this year but many many improvements made. Next year ....room for lots more savings.

I'm jealous of people who can knit, always found it more difficult than crochet, but that's one of the things I want to learn next year as crochet is a bit limiting/slow if I want to make bigger things or things like socks.

P.S. The bunny blanket is a bit wonky and not as nice as I imagined but the recipient is only three months so he won't notice ;). I on the other hand just noticed the the other bunny actually can''t see yet, oops forgot the eyes. Will add them now :)

  • I thought the bunny was supposed to have no eyes , I just thought he was a minimalist bunny lol

    Great crochet projects :)

My Mum tried teaching me (many moons ago), but I didn't progress very far from squares :rolleyes2

Knitting I can do, including circular needle work and multi colour work (like the yoke on a Shetland jumper). Cross Stitch is the one craft I stuck to most, but I've also done spinning (as in the wool variety, from the fleece right through to knitting with the end result) and lace making. The ones I never got anywhere with were embroidery, tatting and macrame.

  • Hi Everyone!
Quite a bizzard outside..we are supposed to have got this weather from Scotland so hope you're all ok up there..hope you get your heating probs sorted out Nyk.

Well probably had one of the best last days at school ever! Managed to spend time with my class (barely drawn into the management dramas that have seemed around constantly this term).

The Penguin Cup sounds lovely. As a teacher I love any present I can use...its ornaments and things that I give away to my mum. Yesterday I got 5 boxes of chocolates-they won't be around for long, some Sanct*ary smellies (haven't had to buy body wash/soap for years) and posh chutney/organic cheddar...also a couple of pressies that the children want me to open on Christmas day...Was really happy with all those gifts then the parents all came in at the end with a gift token for £100 for M and S..(OMG..still in shock). :rotfl:

Today I've been doing school work and chilling out.

Mr SFT will be at home tomorrow and for the weekend. Just as well in this weather.

  • Lovely parents sft :) could be very useful for your grocery budget :)
I love the feeling of getting given a pressie as a thanks better than the actual pressie, if that makes sense:confused: It's nice to be appreciated, but I'd be just as happy if they just said it.
