Morning all, will catch up later today (promise !) but have skim read and just wanted to wish Bails all the very best for today ! I know there is other news but I'll pop on later and have a 'natter' then lol.

Hello Everyone! Hope you each have a good day.
Good luck bails.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Morning
bails hope it goes well for you today.
Read that article, fascinating, but I'd never be able to do that kind of thing with my DH. When the kids have left home I want to travel and I love the idea of downsizing all our stuff but my DH is a horder. If he thinks he could use something in his lifetime he'll keep it! Every bit of tat seems to have sentimental value! I think cause I cam over from Aus when I was 19 with practically nothing I'm very good at getting rid of stuff but you can't get rid of other people's stuff. I've mentioned getting seperate houses, then he could have as much clutter as he likes!
It's a 'desk day' for me today. So I'm going to find a mobile hairdresser and make an appointment. I'm trying to get my cartax onlne but thats not happening. I may have to go into the post office. I've also got some paid work to do.
Does anyone have a 'baking day' or do you just do it as and when? I can't decide whether I should plan it in or not.
Doing liver, bacon & onions for tea. Not sure I like liver but its good to give these things a go.
Will catch up later. Hope you all have a good day.0 -
Working in the Charity Shop this morning. They will be amazed at me turning up. I havent managed it for the last two weeks, due to Family calling. So its fingers crossed I get through today without a distraction.
Decided that I am going to give myself ahead start on next year, and while I still have my money coming in, So I have ordered £100 worth of groceries, toiletries to be delivered next week. It also includes Mr A's basic makeups. So that should tide me well into the new year. Also my main meals for around 2 weeks. Evenlonger if I keep myself on the ball.
I still have the Mr T vouchers,so if funds drop dramatically before Christmas I have still got enough to buy the Turkey.
But I did forget to order any loo rolls!!! Went through my Supermarket site, and the estimated savings against Ocad0, was over £60.Cant remember exactly how much, but as MR W is my nearest Supermarket, must remember to not shop there, unless I am desperate, or picking up a whoopsie!.
Budget needs relooking at,as the Electric is double the bill I just received. !Joy!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Yup, I don't think C.Tax can be paid in carrots, nor is her life style sustainable for many: we need roads hospitals etc. But it still was good food for thought. Like many of you, I am still on the mighty on going journey of a clutter free life...I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Echo that, Good Luck Bails.x
Read the article. Interesting, but I agree Council Tax would not accept the carrots. Certainly wouldnt have accepted mine. They were rather like a knotted root then a carrot!
:rotfl::rotfl: I loaded photographs of my sad looking attempts at carrots but some were too obscene to upload for fear of being accused of filming veggie p0rn. :rotfl::rotfl:
Wishing you the very best outcome for your interview, Bails.
FrankieM, thanks for the laugh - sending your DH to live in a different house reminded me of my recent suggestion to my houseshare and DS, but then I'd need to find another way to cover the costs of rent & council tax and the landlord won't accept dodgy carrots either! :rotfl:I wonder if I'd get a reduction for part payment in hen & duck eggs?I guess I could always ask!
SFT, I meant to say to you that I got lost and couldn't follow your 3 month grocery budget, so I'll reread it today and see if my sponge brain will absorb and process. Does it mean you gave only £96 to last you 3 full months for all your groceries? Or is it the £43 per month?I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Good morning everybody. We had someone come and look at the washer yesterday, the son of a friend who I did not know was a repairman. The circuit board had something wrong which he fixed and he said it was probably caused bythe pump which is worn. He said either he could put a new one in or hubby could so I opted for hubby to save money. He has done pumps before so I knew it would be ok. Yesterday cost me £30 and the pump is going to be £50 plus vat. so I was glad I decided to get oh to do it because the fitting would have cost too.
On the subject of baking I used to bake almost every Saturday when my oldest four were small and I have photos of my ds1 rolling pastry at about 4 yrs old. I am trying to do a regular big bake now but am only just beginning to get some order in my life to do it. Its been quite a year but I think I am coming out the other side now.
Bails your interview is probably over now but I hope it went ok.0 -
Hi peeps, literally just had my interview and I think it went pretty well, could've done a little better on some questions but hey ho! Apparently, if I get that far, there may well be two more interviews to go

I was so touched to read all your Good Lucks, you're all lovely! :kisses3: It would be a real honour to meet you guys next year...Blairweech wrote: »now that I have a place at uni, my 'crazy self sufficient dream farm deluded fantasy' no longer seems crazy or deluded. Er, I think I may be your joint OH:rotfl::rotfl: I loaded photographs of my sad looking attempts at carrots but some were too obscene to upload for fear of being accused of filming veggie p0rn. :rotfl::rotfl:
Grr, when I multi-quote, sometimes it doesn't quote every one I click on! SFT, I wanted to say I'm completely with you on the simplifying, despite my earlier confession, this is also a long-term aim of mine :T
Way to go with the days off Taka, no wonder you're excited! :T
As for nappies, I didn't know some give them away for free :T but I do know that you're entitled to a voucher from your local council towards the cost of reusable nappies. How difficult are they to make Grandma, as I may go down this route?
Off to reply to Blair and then read BB's article. Won't be on later as OH needs the computer as I have been hogging it for work and he needs it to carry on with making the school's website so have a great evening and I'll be on tomorrow, now I don't have an interview to prepare for (well, at least not this week :rotfl:) xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Anyone heard the news yet about bank charges? It did not come as a suprise to me. If the crash had not happened it may have gone the other way but can you imagine the commotion in the circles of the powers that be if it had been accepted today?0
