My present dog was from the RSPCA. I didn't want a puppy but an older dog. The problem was I've also got a cat. All the dogs like cats eg to eat. I had seen the 3 puppies but had just walked past, not wanting to be tempted. I ended up with the last of these puppies, because of the cat problem.
My previous dog was off a rescue site, dogpages.org.uk, which also has a links to the breed rescues etc.
I'm personally against breeding dogs unless you have a show dog and a network of people who can have the puppies. Years ago my Mum use to show Keeshonds.
