Cheap Electricity and Gas

[/img]My mother is in her 80's and tends to have heating on a lot more than normal. I heard about Staywarm, originally run by Eastern Electricity whereby you can have unlimited fuel for a fixed amount. Although she has no gas she still managed to save 50% on her elcetricity bill each month, the cost being about £30 a month. It depends on the number of bedrooms you have how much the cost is. May now be run by TXU but worth searching for Staywarm on Google.
Also make sure you change to a water meter, save water for garden by using a barrel to collect rainwater and put a half brick in toilet cistern - you will save on water bills.

The chances of your mum saving on electricity alone with STAYWARM is probably greater than the combined electric/gas as, I believe, STAYWARM charge the same for the electric only package as they do for the combined gas/electric package.
As electric heating is more expensive than gas heating the chances of saving are far greater.
Your mum probably pays £30.30p/month because she lives alone and has one bedroom. This is what I pay for combined electric/gas.
For more information you can search the electric, gas and water section on this website.0
