how do i get rid of the Antivirus 2010 virus??? help!!!!

Hi all, i have the above virus on my pc. I know absolutely NOTHING about pc's, except how to turn it on and press the button to get on internet.

How do I get rid of it??????? Plus, it seems to not be allowing me access to internet to download what I might actually require to get rid of it.

i'd be grateful for your advice, but please bear in mind - i know nothing about computers!!!

A good start would be to download and run MalwareBytes - quick scan. You may have to install/run it in safe mode, as the virus will actively block a lot of repair actions.

Do you have another PC to download it on, and transfer by memory stick.

If you really have no idea at all then your best bet is to take it to a local computer repair place. They are often surprisingly helpful.

Scan with Malwarebytes reboot when asked. Scan with Superantispyware. Finally scan with your Antivirus. Once this is done scan with and post a HiJackThis log.

Just a quick note, before running MalwareBytes, delete your temporary internet files (Tools-Delete Browsing History- select Delete Files next to Temporary Internet Files. Vastly speeds the scan up!
