EV Holidays

Hi,
Apologies if there's already a thread on this but I can't find it.

Does anyone know anything about EV Holidays?

I had an email offering a 7 day holiday for 2 to Italy for free. Obviously I'm used to getting scam emails but reading the small print it seems you just need to pay a £20 administration fee.

Searching the website, evholidays.com It sounds like you get transport, accomodation and ferry crossing and then there are optional tours which cost extra.

I'm just wondering if anyone's been on one/knows anything about them? It still sounds too good to be true to me?

Ive not heard of this particular company. Does it say why they have offered it to you in the email?
  • Nothing about why I've been offered it, it says this on the website:

People from time to time may question as to the validity of these offers. Some mentions on Internet sites and travel blogs, who many have no understanding of our promotional travel offers, may caution people on occasion as to taking up our offers.
The information contained herein is to dispel
any misunderstandings, or concerns from anyone regarding our offers.

If you have been offered one of our promotional
    tours through 3 different formats

    1. An invitation online from European Vacations Limited directly, or from one of our affiliated sponsor partnering clients.
    2. From a direct mail letter invitation that you may have received in the mail, directly from European Vacations Limited.
    3. By receiving a printed Valid For Two People Complimentary Holiday Gift Certificate to one of our destinations.
You may rest assured, that this offer is completely legitimate, authentic and valid! Terms and conditions for the use of these invitations are outlined in the booking package that is sent to each recipient upon request.
There are two different offers that are sent to various
    clients and individuals.

    1. An invitation where a £20.00 Admin fee is required in order to receive our booking package. This may be generated from either a direct mail invitation, or through an offer made online.
    2. An invitation that is generated by European Vacations Limited’s third party corporate clients. These companies purchase from us Premium & Incentive Holiday Gift Certificates that they in turn, give to their customers as a gift or award in appreciation for their customer’s patronage.

There's another thread on this company.

From what I can tell it's a genuine offer if not actually as good as it seems - they make their money from meals and excursions. You'll find that the hotels they use are way out of town with few if any alternatives for eating nearby.

Why would anyone who offered a free holiday want to charge such a small sum as £20.

I have just recieved the same e mail saying I have won a 7 day holiday for 2 to Italy, I cannot access this link and am a bit scared to go on their actually site as one of the other comments stated they had their laptop infected. I wouldnt mind paying for extras as long as they were optional and not obligatory. does anyone know more details?

EV Holidays provide 'free'holidays to lucky timeshare purchasers who spend half a day being told why they should spend thousands to enjoy holidays they could buy for less on a year to year basis. Whether anyone gets a holiday for free or £20 is another matter altogther. Would you send money to a company you had never heard of and who aren't a member of any trade asssociation if you thought that in all likelihood you would lose it because the cost of the real holiday was so much more? If the answer is 'yes' then go ahead but remember if it sounds too good to be true, it is. No one can sell a holiday to anywhere for £20, think about it, it costs that for a National Express ticket to London.......
