Well after last nights washingpowder paste test the result is Blobs 1 Paste 0 BUT I think it may have faded them a BIT so am going to try a stronger bio powder and see how that goes. I am also looking out for a 'Magic Eraser', I think I may try sterident tablets too as they are gentle but ace for cleaning out manky coffee pots! Will report back in due course .....

To save you the some expense trying, products I have already tried and failed with (that I can remember) are:

    All versions of Cillit Bang
    Various bleaches
    Bar Keepers Friend
    Zif
The new Zif with bleach in it
    Kaboom Toilet cleaner
    Toothpaste
    Sticky Stuff spray on solvent/remover
    Stardrops
    Nail Varnish Remover

I got loads of black gunk on my white plastic bath when I removed the old seal which was held on with some kind of weird, satanic tar adhesive  I'd tried scrubbing, cleaners and nail varnish remover but nothing was so much as fading it.

As a last ditch attempt to get rid of it I bought some Evostick Adhesive Cleaner from B&Q. They keep it under lock and key, you have to ask for them for it. The stuff melts 'adhesives, grease and wax' and is pretty harsh stuff. I got the black stuff off in one wipe.

It's great stuff but do be careful, wear gloves, open windows and keep it out of reach of children. It's not very environmantally friendy but then neither is buying a new bath :D

(I've also used it to remove yellow gloss paint from black woollen trousers  )
Just run, run and keep on running!

Thanks lostplot, I have tried a wheen of things too to no avail, some on your list but also astonish paste (for ovens!) and an orange paste stuff too - no joy! Thanks to all others for suggestions, will give the T-cut a try - am sure there is some in the garage.

On my bath i have a sort of low level rim that will not come off. My husband says that it is my imagination, but I don't think so. I have tried all sorts. I think that it also could be due to Lavender oil or Oilatum. I tried a toilet cleaner in the bath thinking that it might be some sort of limescale and that has discoloured our plug. Will have to look at Asda for new one though we have a spanish bath( I think) ROCA

I also have a problem with water marks on tiles. I just can not get them off and have cleaned them so much that in 1 bit the grout is going!

WD40 claim that they get stains off - according to their packaging - I just bought one of the WD40 pens on sale in ASDA for 50p.

On the other hand, The Magic Eraser is a JML product, which I bought and found useless.

Just to report that I tried the T-cut - and it didn't work. Will try WD-40 next and see how that goes.
