Powerful Laptop / Graphics ... Tiny Browser??

Hi there

Just got my new laptop and it is the business. Really great. However I have a problem... because the resolution is so high, the windows, particularly browser, look tiny and, after longer-term use, give me a bit of eye strain.

I know the easy way to change the resolution in the Properties menu, but this just reduces the overall sharpness and clarity of the page - fonts look a little furred, and window edges blur.

So, how can I get the best of both worlds... the great resolution with larger windows?? Anyone?

Thanks

Within display setting use the apperance page to adjust the size of some items, text size ect you can also adjust loads of other items with the advanced button.

its a shame they no longer include the blind as a bat options of large and extra large schemes that they had on window 2000/98 You could also addjust the text size in internet explorer if that is there you main problem is? in ot view and text size just change it to a larger one.

A useful shortcut, you know how just about all mice come with a middle scroll wheel these days, if you hold down 'Alt Gr' and scroll up/down you can change the font on a webpage quite quickly, so maybe worth checking if your laptop has a 'middle' button thing. On my vaio laptop the edge of the mousepad acts as the scroll wheel on a real mouse.
    I'm better off without you.

right click desktop - properties - settings - advanced - general - DPI settings - select 'large size (120dpi)'

It won't change the size of the windows, but at least you'll be able to read them
  • Already got it on large DPI, and the font size is problematic, because websites with columns / fixed width start to fall apart at the seams... Thanks for the suggestions... any others??

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Internet Explorer, View, Text Size, LARGEST!

Does the same as holding Alt key and scrolling mouse middle button, but you may not have a middle button.
  • I've already 'bounced' this one. It just makes most websites look silly!!

I need to find a way to make the WHOLE thing bigger - text, images, layout etc. without compromising the quality.
