we have 6 under cupboard lights running of 2 transformers. the bulbs are rated 24v 20w. and cost about £4 a go. can i use 12v lamps £1 a go or do i change the transformer. or maybe buy a whole new setup.
just had a close look at the transformers and the rating on them is 230ac input 12v ac output.

I am not quite sure how a 12v transformer can be supplying a 24v lamp. If you have 24v lamps being fed from a 12v supply they would be extremely dim. Are you certain that the bulbs are definitely 24v bulbs. If you are having to buy replacement bulbs at frequent intervals it sounds as if you have a bad miss-match somewhere. If you have a 12v supply then you should have 12v lamps to go with it.I can afford anything that I want.
