iTunes help please

Options
Turned on my laptop this morning, and iTunes has *disappeared*!!

I've tried to re-install it, but it keeps tell me I need to log in as admin to be able to install it. I AM logged in as admin, and even deleted the other user account, so I'd be the only user, but it still won't let me.

Please please help me

  • Did you go to the "add/remove programs" and see if iTunes was listed there? If it is remove it from there.

Yes, it's completely gone frm there. I've removed all the gubbins associated with it to see if that helps

sounds very suspicious, I'd be running anti virus scans and checking recent windows security patches were all installed.

....oh and definitely definitely get some blank DVDs/CDs and use the backup feature built into iTunes once in a while for your purchased stuff
  • I don't think the OP lost their purchased stuff, just the iTunes programme. This is actually surprisingly common and once reinstalled it will link back to all the 'purchased' tunes as this folder remains on the PC.

To be fair, it was probably my fault. I was installing an update last night, but wanted to sleep, so cancelled it and shut the lappy down... :wall:
  • ...in theory of course!

Yes, it's always dangerous to stop anything while it is downloading.
  • Another thing I have noticed with iTunes is that sometimes you think it is not working and you actually have to try loading it several times before it loads up properly.
