Credit card settlement

I have agreed a settlement with my credit card company.(after months of hassel) I paid this settlement by bank transfer on the 24/09 the credt card company say the have not recieved it. They say the account is now in default and if money not in by 2 o'!!!! today they are selling it to a debit collector. What can I do I have sent them proof of payment? Where do I stand legally? help please!!

Have you checked that the money was sent to the correct account with the correct reference number?
Ask your bank to confirm this.0 -

Sorry to hijack this thread, but just curious about the word "Settlement".
I finally managed to cancel my account with Capital1. I have 2 other CC, so there is no need. Balance is Zero since April and they said, they will mark the account as being settled. Surely thats nothing bad, is it?

Ask your bank to do a BACS trace, they can trace where the £ went when it left your a/c & where & when it arrived.... then ask them to fax this to CC co?
