100% definately a "do you really want to buy that", "do you know how much interest you're paying" bore BUT seeing that stuff I learned here has saved people money they dont hate me yet & my experienes have made people realise how easily you can amass 34000 of debt!! Have to be careful though...!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Too late! I am a self-confessed DFW bore. But in a private and smug way. Which is no doubt worse!:rotfl::eek: What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160

Better still.......stooze the money in an ISA and earn some "free" money!! I must admit I dont tend to tell people I do this as the one time I did , the person I was telling got glazed eyes and looked at me strangely.:rotfl:Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... I was talking to my daughter on MSN on Saturday night and I happened to mention something moneysaving and she said, Oh God, no, youre not still obsessing over that site, are you? When I admitted I was, she said that she didnt want to hear anything about it.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Well, now I can say I'm not the only bore, so thanks for that:j
Maybe being a bore is the 'in' thing to be these days anyway, let's start a trend
Mind you, I would have found the topic of money and finances highly boring not so long ago so I suppose I can't blame people if they havn't seen the light and have not budgeted and are needing a whole pound extra the day before pay day!!:rotfl:
edit: I was sitting in the garden the other day as well and going on about the free heating from the sun! Never thought about it like that before, I think i'd better calm down about it all :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd 071/£2 saver=£10

My husband keeps calling me a money-saving-geek as he says I'm never off this site....does that count ? Mind you, he's a natural money saver, he just seemed to emerge into the world with a fully formed ability to manage his money and live within his means that it has taken me ages (and the help of this site) to learn.
But I'm also finding that I'm getting really frustrated with friends who are in debt and moaning about it, I want to shake them and tell them that if they refuse to face up to it then they'll never be free from it. One of my best friends lives such an extravagant life that people who earn double her salary wouldn't even consider spending the money she does on e.g. holidays, socialising, clothes etc, but she has the nerve to say that her debts aren't her fault, its because everyone knows that our employer pays poorly in comparison to rival companies. What???!!!!!0 -
I kept OH up till gone 2 wittering about how, if all goes according to plan and my maths are right I might just be debt free by October 06 and have 3k in an ISA. And 300 in premium bonds.
He goes "I wish I could have a debt-free date" ( hes temping at the mo though, quite hard for him to do it)
I have freind who is nothing short of compulsive with her shopping, and im getting to the stage when Ive said my bit, and i know that I will be forwarding her here again before the year is out :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'm a money saving bore for certain! I keep telling my friends about this site and ways of saving and cutting back and the stupid thing is not one of them is in as much debt as me, just hope if they come on here then it will stay that way!0

My parents find me quite amusing when i lecture them on money saving, they are not in debt but could save on things they buy, but they just can't be bothered
I used to go round to my parents and show them stuff i had bought, now i go round and see what they have bought in case i can borrow it - DVDs, books stuff like that.
I have also started telling thoses poeple in shopping centres who try to get you to sign up for credit cards etc exactly how much debt i'm in and that i will not be adding to it.
Lately i have been telling my friends and family about cashback sites, they don't believe me that you actually get cash/points for buying things online.
I feel like i've joined a cult and my parents are waiting for me to come to my senses :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club member no. 0190
