Icy box

I made the mistake of lending my icy box external hard drive to my DD. Naturally she broke it. There is one pin missing from the dc power cable. I've googled like mad but can't find anyone to supply one.Anyone any ideas, aprt from not lending to DD that is.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

  • You should be able to replace that cable. Try taking the power supply and cables to Maplins and ask their technical bods behind the parts counter if they can help. Failing that, try a small electrical shop and see if they can find or make you one. Both ends of the cable are very common connectors, so it's just a wiring job, really.

Had a similar problem a while back and ended up failing either a repair or finding a replacement - but my soldering skills are poor! Good luck
