I transfered 900 quid onto my 0% tesco CC and phoned immediately to set up a direct debit.
I was told it went through and it would come off on bla bla bla etc.
The next month I logged in and it hadnt been paid and I had a late fee. I phoned up to complain and they cancelled the fee and set the direct debit up again.
The very next month... tonight I have noticed the entire 900 quid has been paid off in full via direct debit!!!
I am speechless!!! I specifically said it would be minimum payments for the direct debit, infact I think I picked £50 per month!!!
My bank account is now overdrawn and Im booked to go to Australia in 2 months!!!!!!!

What does your most recent statement say about this Direct Debit payment?
If it says that it was to be for the full £900, then you should have noticed it as soon as you received the statement, and contacted Tesco to change this.
If it says that it was to be for the minimum payment, then you can claim from your bank under the Direct Debit Guarantee. They will put the money straight back into your current account, today, and will get it back from Tesco on your behalf.0 -
The lines are open 24/7 so gave them a ring.
They confirmed in that it stated in their notes that I phoned regardng the direct debit and set it to the minimum payment on the 3rd sept. The woman said that her colleague has then just clicked payment in full by accident.
They said they will refund the 900 immediately minus the minimum payment for this month and will pay any fees I have incurred.
Would it be pushing it to write a letter of complaint regarding the matter hinting for further compensation (tenner shopping voucher!!) as thats twice now they've messed up and I only got the card 2 months ago!!!0 -
It can't have been for £50 a month AND for minimum payment. Which was it?
It doesn't help your argument if you can't tell them a coherent story about what you agreed.0 -

Alright, alright, calm down. I said above it was minimum payment.
Anyway Tesco have set the wheels in motion to refund it all.
Im just blooming annoyed they've messed up twice now in 2 months! Hope this doesnt effect my credit rating in some form as its something Ive always concentrated on protecting!!
Do you think its worth a go writing a letter? I've made a good few phone calls to remedy the situation...0 -
If you look at the times, kriss_boy, we were both typing at the same time.
Glad that they have worked out their error and are correcting it.
You should definitely demand that they do not report this as a missed payment for credit referencing purposes.0 -
Would you buy a tin of beans at HSBC?;)0
