I just pay the tax as per my tax code then fill in an Inland Revenue form at the end of the year and get waht I'm owed back

That is the right form number Sue but hmrc are hopeless at updating their website to the current forms.
Sue's advice is spot on, so if you are only earning during the holiday periods and will earn less than your personal allowance you can be paid tax free once you have completed that form and given it to your employer.0
