Does anybody know if someone was to deposit cash via their credit card to a poker site, will there be a additional charge or higher interest rate applied?

Your card provider will probably count this as a cash advance. My credit card's T&Cs state thatCash advance - cash, traveller's cheques or foreign currency obtained by using the card or money transfers, finance payments or gambling transactions made with the card.
Check that this is the same with yours, but if so, there's likely to be a fixed charge, and also interest will accrue from the date of the transaction (there's generally no 59-day interest free period on cash advances).0 -
Also keep an eye out for anything regarding 'quasi cash' in your Ts&Cs as cash-like transactions are sometimes referred to as.
Also bear in mind that if you make this transaction and it is treated as cash that you will pay this higher rate until all lower rate trans are paid off (except in the case of Nationwide I believe).0
