CDiscount problem

Hello,
I'm curious to find out if anyone else has had the same experience as me.
I bought a Samsung BD-P1600 Blu Ray player from CDiscount and just had it delivered,. Upon inspection I could tell that the box had been opened already (and sellotaped back up) but I know some companies do that to check contents and affix serial stickers so I thought nothing of it. After playing with it for a while, the player isn't working properly and have arranged to return to CDiscount. When I was repacking it, I noticed another packing slip for the same blu ray player but for a different person/address.
Based on the fact that when you return something to CDiscount you are supposed to include your original packing slip, I can only assume that this player had already been returned as faulty once before.
Are CDiscount really not testing the goods that are returned and just sellotaping them up and sending them to a new customer? I'm interested to hear from anyone else who may have experienced this.
Im tempted to write to the person listed on the packing slip to see if he returned it as faulty or just as unwanted...
