Hi! I have been plagued by connection problems (still am) and trying to switch G&E providers. Every time I am close to finding out something my system goes off so it is a nighmare! Some time ago I received a message from Scottish Power, our providers, announcing they were switching us to capped and we had until Set 30(tomorrow) to opt out, but the only option is to go to standard. Does it mean I have penalties if I switch now to a different provider?
Thanks!

No ,I f you want to change later on you need to ring SP today and ask to go on their standard rate otherwise you will hit with a penalty if you stay with the capped rate.

Thanks! That's what I did and they put me on their standard... apparently now I can switch whenever without penalty!

I also did in on internet for good measure (they had sent me a message with an opt out option but I was not sure what to do)....
