Parking permit Glasgow Refused - help

Hi I stay in Glasgow - I applied for a Parking Permit but was refused giving the reason as - the flat was converted to 2 flats in 2002 any change after 2000 not allowed parking permits.

Previously the flat would have been allowed a parking permits with no limits per flat - but now its zero,

I have written to MP and the council to try and overturn citing the reason - there is no increase in permit as less people now take up the space.

Any ideas how I can get this sorted?

My next door neighbour allowed one, but dont know them two well plus think you have to put name and proff of residence down?

if you've bought the flat, it may well be worth speaking to the solicitor who dealt with the sale to see if there was any reference to parking rights either in the terms of sale or the deeds. if you're renting then have a reasonable discussion with your landlord to see if they can help.

Other than that, speaking to your MP is a good idea, if you live in a mainly residential area, then the council would be being pretty unfair in denying you the right to park your car at your own address.

You must be in the City Centre? This is correct, conversions and new developments are meant to not increase on street demand and in the City Centre haven't been granted for since 1st Jan 2000.

You can only speak to the council but might be hard to get anywhere.
