Electricity Monitor
Options
Has any one got one of these? Mine is saying that I use 40 kw appx a week less than my meter. The monitor manufacturer say it should be accurate to within a couple of Kw over a period of time. EON have offered to put in another meter alongside my existing one at a cost of £95 to see if my old meter is miss-reading. Is this likely? any ideas?

Find an appliance that you know the power consumption of, for example a 2kw electric heater with no thermostat.
Switch everything else off and run it for a couple of hours, both meters should increase by 4Kwh.
BTW Make sure the wireless sensor on you energy monitor is connected to the Live feed to the meter (marked red or brown) and not the neutral.(black or blue). That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thanks Penrhyn, could be worth a try. BTW its on the Red cable.0

Hi Nixxi
Just a quick heads up; if your meter turns out to be faulty the cost of the check meter will be fully refunded.
Hope this helps.
