A great way to see plays, musicals and gigs for free, and get paid to boot, is to become an usher. Contact your local theatre to find out if there any vancancies. The downside is that you will have to sit through some tedious shows ( the kind you would only see if you were paid to!) and there are some hectic late nights, but it's well worth it.
