taping off tv

in Techie Stuff
have a sony camcorder dcr-hc51e which uses mini tapes. have set it up to play on tv. that works fine. have to have tv on av3 to watch the tape but when i try to record through the video recorder when i play video recorder back it has not taped .am i missing some sort of cable[connecting to tv with an av cable ]

As above, you should find that your recorder has a set of phono(RCA) connectors on the front or possibly under a flap.

may vcr does not have rca connection anywhere on it .it is an oldish vcr
