Quick question about printing on A5 onto A4 and then cutting in half.

I've got an A4 word document.

I want to print it onto A4 double sided and then cut the A4 sheets in half to make a set of A5 cards.

I'm not on a PC with a printer at the moment, so I can't experiment.
Is there an easy way to get the sections in the right order.

Eg:

currently each A4 page will go

part1
part2

part3
part4

So on A5 the first card will have part1 on the front and part3 on the back.
Which is not what I want.

OK, done some googling.
Can I set it to A5 and then set up print to print 2 original pages on each bit of paper?

^ Yep you can that'll be fine, providing you have those print options...

Else layout as A4 landscape, and whatever the margin is around (e.g. 10mm) double it for the "gutter" between the A5 sheets (e.g. 20mm)

Just make sure you get the imposition right, i.e. the right side on the front and back of the page.

I set myself a simpler task.

Format document as A5 landscape.
Print them out on A4 portrait sheets. So, 2 landscapes per sheet.

I've tried every single combination of options and can't get it to work. I think it's the printer's fault.


EDIT: I GOT IT TO WORK.

I turned all of the printer settings back to basic A4 portrait.

In word page set up I selected "A4" portrait
"Pages- multiple pages" setting was put at "2 pages per sheet"

Sorted.
No thanks to the printer company.
