Help please

Hi, i am positng on behalf of my sister, she has various problems at the moment and is trying to address each one as it appears.

She has a Vanquis Visa Credit Card that currently has a balance of £1300 approx although her limit is £1200, she was managing this perfectly untill she had to leave her job and move 175 miles to be closer to her family (personal reasons), now she has to rely on ESA benefit untill she is well enough to return to work, Vanquis are aware of this situation.
They have agreed to accept £27.00 pm BUT this doesn't even cover the interest that is still being applied to the account.
Is there any way to get the interest frozen so the bill will start being reduced?
She is being fined on each statement for going over the limit when it's only over the limit as they keep adding charges - vicious circle really

Is there anyway to break this circle?
I am currently helping her with her finances and by the time we've worked our way through them it looks like the payment will have to be reduced again anyway due to other debts and priorities. (sp)

Thanks for taking the time to read.

  • You can ask for them to reduce or freeze interest, but they can say no. If you're reducing the repayments again, this will not do her any favours - to be honest the credit file will be kinda ruined (for around 1-3yrs if they are slapping on late payment markers...)....

To be honest, her credit rating is the last of her worries, Where she has had to move and doesnt have a job, along with the rest of her debts, the figures just dont add up, i am currently encouraging her to go to cccs as she needs proper help, i am doing my best but she is in a very fragile state of mind so i have to tread very carefully.
I am not after making excuses for her and i am trying my hardest to help her.
I just dont know which way to turn first LOL
I was wondering how to go about getting the interest frozen if thats possible.

  • Might be an idea to ask on the debt free wannabe forum too.
