Hi all,
Just moved into our new flat. It has a card meter for Gas and Key for Electric. We are connected to British Gas and was told once i get my new accout number and the card and key then i can also sign up on the web for the PrePayment Standard or Click service to save more money.
Cany anyone advise on which is better Standard or Click and what these packages are as i dont understand there website.

The only difference is click is arranged online. This can save you £70 per year so is worthwhile doing. It does not tie you in in any way either. I would say go for it.
For anyone else interested in this you have to have 2 prepayment meters and both supplied by British Gas.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -
Many thanks,
We have both with british gas as one is a card and a key

Hi,
Just came to mind how can they offer a saving of £70 a year if its on prepayment card or key which you top up at the shops. Do they change the meter settings or somthing
Chris0 -
After you action it you will get an email to advise 28 days later to pick up a message when you top up. This will then transfer to the meter to lower the tariff.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

OK so after signing up something will pop up on the meter then to says the rate has been changed.
Also with regards to Biritsh gas for my serviecs are they the cheapest or better supplier to use or could i get much cheaper anyware else.

You could always ask British Gas to replace the prepayment meters with standard ones, then switch to a cheaper provider for your energy as British Gas are quite expensive for gas.
I have had nightmare problems with them in the past - inaccurate billing, not helpful in sorting problems.0 -
Well its our first flat and on low income at the minute so i think the pre payment mgight be better for us to start and then we can work out what we use after a month

Hi all,
Sorry to bring this thread back up. Saves me starting a new one again but i did request the British Gas / Electric Web Click Discount when we moved in over a month ago now and i am not sure if our gas and electric prepayment meter has gone over to the lower terrif or not. How can i tell if its been set on both meters or not.
I can see on both the meters that there is a rate showing kwph i think it was but as i do not know if its been changed.
Can anyone advise on what the rate should be for the click offer account on gas and electric so i can check.
I have allready looked on the british gas site and i cannot work it out using there PDF file that i have downloaded
