    Hey everyone

As someone who has this home entertainment system, which I bought last year from local Index shop (half price then in sale), I can confirm it is a great bit of kit.

Of course, there are bigger and better ones out there, but for the price, compared to some of the c##p people go for in Argos for £70 (haha!), this is a bargain.

I can second the praise for this. I've had mine about a year now and it's a great piece of kit.
  • being the odd one out! i have to disagree! first of all i think empiredirect give a shoddy service they have failed to price match the items which they had in stock, fobbing me off with dull excuses, like we dont match currys, or we dont match LX direct clearence prices etc. (why dont they just get rid of that silly price match gaurantee!)

on the topic being discussed regarding the sony home cinema set, i think its just a gimmick, this set has been at this price at empiredirect for the best part of 8months. yes i agree comet and some other stores have them for double tht price. but it begs the question why would anyone want to invest in a system without a dvd player! the next system out in a couple of months time (if not here already) is a DVD recordable home cinema system. this is like two models back! and even though it has a good saving, whats the pint when you can pick up a sony/pnasonic dvd player home cinema system for the same price! its on its way out and for those buying a system on its wat out, more fool you

The original posters link refers to a Sony DAVSB100 which is not worth £150

No mention of a HTK250 on the Empire link given. ???

Just hope you have ordered the right thing ::) ::)

I couldn't get the direct link to work, all you have to do is search htk250 ;)
And some people already have a dvd recorder and want a seperate amp to connect existing equipment. This is a good quality set unlike the ones available from argos.
I clearly stated it was reduced because it has been discontinued but that doesn't mean it is a bad system, I also mentioned it had been available a few months abak at the same price (think it was the same price @ index as well) People who buy this are not fools ::)

    Found it http://spod.cx/s?828

It looks ok, but only says 40W per channel and does not state whether it is RMS or Music power. If it's Music Power then it's only good for a very small room.

I will not be buying but was just checking if it was worth the price.( I already have a cinema system.)

Not too bad i guess for a starter system.

Adam2661 - it's no gimmick, it's a second chance of getting a good deal regardless of them being this price before.

Why would anyone want to invest in a system without a dvd player? - I do. I have a DVD player and recorder (actually it's a home built Media centre PC) and want a reasonable set of speakers for a home theatre and for playing Audio CD's, so it's not like two models back for my application.

  • cool, cheers to the OP. just gone for one :) Dunno why though cause I dont really need one, and I dont have a dvd player. Damn I hate this forum :P
