I am about to install a forum on my website and i have been looking at a few. I was just wondering what everyone thinks is the best forum software?
I am after free software really as i cant afford to buy any.

I used http://www.phpbb.com/ on a website I manage, I found it pretty easy to set up and install hacks; http://www.perrycourtfarm.com/forum/0

I use a number of forums running vBulletin and like what it can do.
OT why-oh-why do organisations (the BBC being the worst) continue to use their own in-house written forum s/w which is 100% lame?0
