I've tried to upgrade my Tom Tom Home to the latest version, but get this error:
Tom TomHOMERuntime.exe failed with error 0: Process failed to start up correctly.
If this problem persists, please install from:
http://www.tomtom.com/home
Someone told me to try:
http://errornerd.com/error.php?seed=Runtime-Error&gclid=CO2a8JrNjJsCFWIB4wodyjp3pg
Which I did. It happily told me that I have numerous issues and to fix them I will need to register... and then pay. (I wasn't too surprised).
Does anyone know of a free alternative/something better?

Keep away from those sites.
First off, do you have anything important in your current TTH setup such as a backup you need to restore - if this is the case you need to make a safe copy first.
You would then be better uninstalling the current version completely, rebooting, checking that the the TTH folder has gone from Program Files, then downloading the new version and installing it clean (all as a computer administrator of course).0 -
Notice how the URL incorporates your search terms? That's what it uses to generate the page; you can put anything you like there, no matter how nonsensical and it'll still produce an ad for RegCure.Someone told me to try [snip!]
To avoid blundering into these things in future, I suggest you download and install something like WOT.0
