Aaaargh, A&L, Sky And Indian Call Centres

Where do I start.
Changed bank acc to A&L and now starting the 11th week and still in the proces of switching d/d's.
Sky sent me a lett last mnth states all sorted with new bank acc,they would take may's d/d slightly late for may but back to normal in june.
Recieved lett yesterday from Sky saying A&L refused to pay my d/d and acc in arrears, need pays asap. Rang Sky adv of situation re lett rec and changing bank acc and paid in full by debit card. I was then adv Sky would still try to take the d/d on 23rd of may and it was up to me to cancel and reset d/d up!:mad: Got ticked off at this,stated I wanted to close acc and rang cancellations, who promptly gave me 3mnths at half price:p (which is what I wanted anyway).
Now rang A&L, they adv me Sky had tried to take a payment from my acc but they refused it, due to the fact that Sky hadn't replied to their orig request confirming that they would now request future pays from A&L.They also stated that unless A&L register this info with them they wont get paid in the future either.
Now it gets worse, rang Sky back (to adv to register) and all I get is an Indian call centre and they obviously dont understand what I'm asking them to do to resolve the matter. Rang back on cust servs no 3 times and every time its India, and you just know straight away you're gonna get nowhere.:eek:
So here I am with a headache, no further on and I've given up the will to live.
So its a definate thumbs down for A&L, Sky and all Indian call centes. (could say worse but its not printable).
On a lighter note got 5 x £2 coins today for the £2 savers club and now doubled my savings.:rotfl:

holidayqueen, I really sympathise. I had a terrible time transferring to A&L. I'm afraid if you're only 11 weeks into the switch you have some way to go yet - it took them literally months to complete my transfer, and even then I ended up doing some of it myself or else probably still wouldn't be complete lol!
I stayed until the 0% OD ran out then moved as soon as I could elsewhere - if this is what happens when just trying to open an account, imagine what would happen if you had a genuine problem you needed them to help with.0 -

I really wished it was more encouraging news, and as you say it doesn't bode well for the future.
Been onto A&L today and got a really nice/helpful person and she says will now follow up on one of my d/d's (after being adv last week had to chase it myself!) and says that Sky has a problem at the moment with new software relating to d/d's. But Sky and A&L are now aware of the problem and hopefully it should now sort itself out.:rolleyes:

Just had a thought - after the whole switching ordeal was over I wrote to complain. Couldn't get any responses but finally a really helpful, genuine lady dealt with my complaint, investigated what happened (and gave reasons for some of it), and gave me £100 compensation (although this was only because the complaint had been outstanding for so long before anyone responded to me).
If you want me to dig out her phone number let me know as I know I still have it.0 -

Hopefully, it shouldn't go on to long now as only got 2 d/d's left to switch.
But you know what they say 'watch this space'.

The straw that broke the camels back arrived today in the post.
A demand lett for £00.00, stating all future reminders will now incur £4 chrges and they will suspend our service in 14 days if we dont register a DD with them. :mad:
PLEASE I BEG OF YOU SUSPEND THE SERVICE, COS I'M SO SICK OF IT.
Since changing my acc to A&L in feb, Sky have consistantly failed to reg my DD with A&L. I have made numerous calls resulting in the following,
3mnths reduction @ 50%
2mnths reduction @ 40%
£10 refund for phone calls
Ret 2 DD's
Paying acc by debit card every mnth(so no arrears accrue)
Promise's to escalate my problem
A manager acknowledging/identifying problem, stating would resolve
Cancellations convincing us to stay and give them one more chance
and finally a manager today stating " I know you've heard this before, but give me one final chance I'll see it through"
Sound familiar to anyone.
Got his full name and ext no, promising to call me tomorrow.
