Hi
We are going for an overnight stay in Necastle and want to go for a nice meal.
Not really expensive but not wetherspoons either.
Can anyone recommend anywhere in the city centre and any seafood restaurants would be great.
thanks

Well as you like seafood I would recommend
Zorbas - Greek Restaurant on the Bigg Market which does lovely, reasonably priced seafood (and they sell Mythos)
Fuji Yama or Hana Hana - both japanese restaurants on Bath Lane which do fabulous seafood and Sushi - although between £23 and £30 per head for food alone.
Fisherman's Lodge in Jesmond Dene do lovely seafood but it is very posh.0 -
I have enjoyed Little Saigon in the Bigg Market - Vietnamese food.0

Silk Room is pretty cheap and just off the quayside - would book!!0

Cafe Vivo, off Quayside too, lovely.0

Hiya I live near Newcastle and my favourite restaurant of everywhere I have been is El Torero which is a Tapas restaurant. It's nothing like the chain La Tasca (much nicer) as it's local, family run and the food is fab. It's also mega cheap and I can recommend the jugs of Sangria. It's just along the quayside at Newcastle (other end of Quayside to La Tasca) and up a little street called The Side. You can walk there in about 5 mins from Pitcher and Piano etc on the Quayside. Only thing is it gets really busy so best to book well in advance! :beer:0

If you like Mussels I can recommend Big Mussel on the Quayside - a good belgian seafood restaurant. http://www.bigmussel.co.uk/site/index.phpGood wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0

One of my favorite restuarants has been hana hana's. Its japanese and does sell seafood. I loved it and its a terinyeki so you sit in front of the griddle pan with a fantastic chef doing things with a spatula you never knew was possible. And you can see the freshness and quality of food. Its not a far walk from bars and the river side i loved itit might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:
