Does anyone know where I can get an EXTERNAL dvd re-writer cheap? Just for backing up my HD. Thanks.

I have a dvd drive but don't want to put it into my pc, can i buy an ixternal case and fit it in via usb, like the external hard drive bays?Like what I said? click thanks!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Whats your deifnition of 'cheap'? You should be able to get an external USB DVD re-writer for £50-60 (or possibly less .. my Lite-on was about £57 from PC WOrld using pick up at store option).

When I asked about this a few months ago, the LG GSA-2164D 16x Dvd±rw Dual Layer External Usb2.0 was recommended. I'd bookmarked the (Ebuyer)link then, for when I had some money spare for it (not yet!), but have just checked and Ebuyer aren't selling it anymore. I haven't bought and used it myself, but if you search on Google there are plenty of sellers, and a lot of good reviews.0

My definition of cheap is the cheapest decent spec, but not a pile of crud
