mobile video clips distort on laptop

hi i wondered if anyone can help please i have some video clips on sony ericsson k800i of my grandchildren which distort on samsung r710 laptop does anyone know of a way to enlarge them without distortion please.they are very important to me because their dad has been seriously ill and in hospital a lot and photos and videos are in short supply. i have loaded VLC and picasa 3 but i cant seem to get it to work on those, but i am a novice. thanks fearn:j

This distortion you're talking about may simply be because of the low quality of the camera. Sony Ericssons are actually pretty good for cameraphones, if you want better quality you would need a camcorder. Try not enlarging the video. It'll be a smaller picture but won't look as bad. Loads of movement is particularly hard to pick up on a cameraphone.
