Still not feeling 100% today so still haven't been to the Shops, this is great for the GC.
Thankfully I have fish in for tonight and have been out to the Garden to dig up some spuds for Chips and shall serve some mushy peas with it. No pud again tonight but plenty of muffins etc to please everyone.
Will definitely need to venture out to the shops tomorrow for a few things to tide us over until Monday when my GC ends. At least I'll have a shiny new Budget for Half Term.;)
Have a good evening everyone.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

I'm up to £102.73/£120 this month which isn't too bad with a week to go.
I've been trying to stock up on bits and pieces as and when they're on offer and I now have a good stock of Quorn mince, washing liquid, toilet rolls and various toiletries. A bit random, but it will save us some pennies when I drop down to SMP in December. I've also got a couple of dozen frozen meals in the freezer which, combined with our stocks of pasta and pesto type things, should mean we don't starve in the first couple of weeks once baby is here.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Hi All,

Aldi £12.21
Asda £8.89
Butchers £7.50
Home Bargains £1.68
Got £29.02 left for the rest of the month (1 week)
Week 1 :£37.28
Week 2: £39.51
Week 3: £38.91
Week 4: £30.28
Need to find pumpkin and pasta recipies as my challenge for this week as I am determined not to go over the budget and its the two things we have most of!0 -
Did whole weeks shopping - bar pint of milk etc... during week for £22.04 so very pleased with that, means I've got just £7.96 for anything else I need. Really pleased!
I was bored yesterday afternoon so was sat on the mysupermarket website working out the cheapest etc... Also the fact that Mr M, T, S and Aldi are within a 10 minute drive from my house meant bargain hunting was easy!
I had my little list with prices next to items and then was adding up on my phone as I went along! Sad I know but I'm so competitive I have to make sure I come in under budget!
Meals are all organised and planned so really should be no more to get

Just popped in to update my sig. Only purchase so far today is a tray of FR eggs £3.00 - some so large I wonder how the chicken managed it!!!
Of to MrA in a few minutes but if the bargains are good that spend will go up. I don't really need anything, we are off on hols next Thursday and still have tons in the freezer.
Back later with an update.0 -
Am officially declaring October as a flipping disaster - have lost count and done one more shop than I should have. Never mind onwards and upwards. I'm blaming getting married, starting teaching practice in a new school and general bedlam!
So I'm off to Mr Ts in a minute to do the shop and then starting again in November.
Helen - can you put me down for £170 for November please?0 -
...Does anyone have a separate budget for things like wine!?, magazines, clothes, trips out etc.? I think this is where more of my money seems to be dissappearing, so could do with keeping a better eye on this!
Hi Chewy62, some of us have separate budgets for everything, mine's broken down into several categories as part of the 'Live on £4000 for a year' challenge so that I can see how each spend affects all my other spends across the board and throughout the year. This way I know I really am dealing with an amount that I can afford (or not, as the case may be).
Managing to keep to barest minimums this month, despite the extra spending to stock up on cereals.Colder weather means everyone's more appreciative of homemade soup and pudding lunches or dinners, so the slow cooker and breadmaker are on most days or nights with rubber chicken, ham or mince being the mainstay of the meat dishes. It seems to be working, as I've only spent £37.22 this month so far and only one more week to go! :j If I can get the turkey orderred & paid next month then that would see me through to cjristmas no problem, with just basic essentials like dairy, fruit, veg & flour to buy. Here's hoping the plan works, as I have less than £80 of my original year's budget left! If all else fails, I'll need to increase the target amount, reduce the electricity allowance and then get it all reduced next year when the garden is more fully organised and the LETS trading gets into full swing.
CW - no signs of any changes at our nearest C0-0p, so maybe it's survived this round of store changes.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
