Hi al,

I dont have a home phone, just a mobile, so I dont really want to be on the line to Netgear support for ages because of my bill. Does anyone know if they would ring me back?

I suppose this doesn't just apply to netgear, but all tech support companies.

thanks!

Most companies won't call you back.

However if you call outside of peak hours there should be less of a holding time. Additionally have you tried to resolve your problems using their web sites / techie forums?
  • Hi Joshtbh,

Have you tried posting your query for Netgear in the technical forum on MSE? There are some very helpful folks in that area who may save you a phonecall.

    Cheers,

Some companies have their customers support lines on numbers that earn them money when you call, so only a company that is really serious about wanting to help their customers is going to agree to call you back on your mobile :(

Let us know how you get on?

try this website http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php - saves money on premium numbers by giving you the company local number! - saved me money loads of times, i found this on MSC btw.

what is the problem with the netgear - what model? - ask here and we may be of help - for free!
most old router problems are cured with the latest firmware upgrade. we can talk you through that if that is whats needed.

When I rang NTL support, I asked them to call me back, there Tech support said that there phones were barred for making out going calls.
They told me to ring customer services, get them to ring me back and then get them to transfer the call to Tech Support.
I did that and the rang me back and transferred me :)
