They don't say they want you to, but tell you that you can - that is not the same thing.
What part of the job description does it indicate that csa employees should make a suggestion to nrp that they have an alternative option and that is pay by credit card or loan, both these suggestion are poor advice from the csa because these would take the nrp into further debt with having to pay interest on top.
  • Did your OH receive any redundancy money?? If so could you not try use that money to pay off the debt.

Where a debt is due to be paid to pwc, the government provide c-mec with the power to accept a reasonable offer to settle debt, a decision to accept a lesser amount has to be in an agreement with the pwc.

They are merely saying that they will accept these as options to clear the debt which is owed - it is entirely up to the NRP to do or not as they wish.

It is what they have to do - instructions from the senior management because, believe it or not, many people had never considered that this could in fact be an option and indeed until recently, you could not pay with a credit card or debit card. The only options which used to be available were DoE, Standing Order, Direct Debit or Bank Giro (slips). They have recently been given the tools to accept all other methods of payments and they are making this clear to the NRPs.

I am sorry but it is very clear to even talk about transfering debt you have to be licenced. The reason for this is very simple and is called 'Toxic Debt'. If someone is to take out a debt to clear the CSA arrears and they cant service this debt it then becomes a 'Bad Debt' and will then become part of an Administration Order, an IVA, or Bankrupsy, and written off. The Gov is going mad and not only ours, because of the level of bad debt that there is. Please just look at the resesion that it has caused and the number of people it has made homeless and out of work, is this what aresponsible Gov Dept should be doing, No it is not.

Lord Turner is looking in to the matter at this time, if there was nothing wrong with thisa attitude and it was legal, then he and his departemnt would not be waisting both their time and public money in looking into this mater. It could lead to the arrest of a number of people in the Enforcment teams, and I dont think that many people will cry about that!

    here you go.

    quote
Barry Porter says the agency has been criticised in the past for making fathers take out loans so that they can pay what they owe. “But we make no apologies for it.
“The way I see it, these people have borrowed their children’s money and if they have to seek another lender with high interest rates to pay the money back, then so be it.”

it's also worth noting that this is the man who left the police before he was sacked and investigated for corruption, so it's no use a lying toerag like that jumping on a band wagon like that.

people in glass houses and all that.

To be fair the context of the rest of that report is voicing opinion over nrp's who choose not to pay or commit fraud.

    No I don't think they will:rotfl:
Its disgraceful to "advise" people they can pay by a loan/credit card if they want to:mad: Although if I had my thinking head on (doesn't come out very often;)) could you take out loans etc to pay off your csa debt then declare yourself bankrupt?
Surely if you could do this (and I don't know if you could) then where is the incentive for people to be careful with their borrowing?
