We took out a PPI with NATWEST. After many years and as I was made redundant a claim was made to NATWEST. Our claim was refused as I was on a fixed contract. This was never explained to us by the seller though we did inform them. "Dont worry, lots of people are similar it doesn't mean anything" was the reply.
Anyway to move things on; I sent NATWEST Martins template via recorded delivery. NATWEST lost it. We cancelled our policy expecting a lowering of our monthly premium. Big mistake! Depending on when you took out loan depends on how much the PPI is for that month/year will be. Apparently the insurance decreases as the years of repayment progress though the premium never decreases. This information is not on loan agreement people sign though is somewhere in the package that is sent. If anyone takes out insurance loan protection please check what the repayments of the loan are and what you are actually paying in insurance premiums

Hi there and welcome.;)
Thank you for your advice on this as well, I'm sure many will appreciate it.
Have you since sent another letter due to then losing your first one?

I know this is a silly question, but I have a natwest loan but declined the PPI. The Loan advisor was very very harsh with me and pushed hard. Should I report this? I guess I am not entitled to any rebate, but this should be a thing of the past.......... Hard push selling!0

Hi there
I agree with Marshallka, complain about this, this should not happen anymore.
Pressurised sales is defo a no no.
Going back to yours, when you say declined, do you mean you tried to reclaim and for being mis sold, due to the fact of being pressurised into taking this out, or have I mis read this?
Cheers.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I have informed NATWEST of ongoing issues. I believe their action plan now is sending me letters from different departments which are located throughout UK. I have received NATWEST mail from Manchester, Bristol, London, another Bristol department, RBS. In effect, I feel they are making me fight battles on different fronts. No one will give me one contact person or department. As an aside my wife is feeling anger, frustration and not a little bit intimidated. They also patronize me as I am not as money wise as they are. My reply is that I was not the one who bankrupt the country!0

My previous threads told of misselling, apologises, losing my sent recorded delivery mails, then onto the information overload NatWest supplied. Their latest timewasting tactic has been to inform that they cannot look at my/our complaint (Martins template) as my signature on letters does not match my NatWest scanned signature! They inform me that no action shall be started until I go through the procedure of making an appointment with "local" branch so they can verify my signature and start all over again and resend mail in envelope provided, which wasn't! It really is difficult not to get angry at their tactics and maybe I shouldn't, but I keep thinking "Are these people any different than criminals?"0
