Virgin CC making there own rules up again!!

Ok...so I've had my troubles before with Virgin...but couldn't refuse there offer of 6.9% for the life of the balance. I transfered 2 of my other cards with alot higher rates.

£7500 is the approx amount on my Virgin card now at 6.9%. Although I'm wise to there little games it really gets on my wick that they are only asking for a minimum payments of around £45 a month..or £60...or £55! Thats only 0.6%...now like I said I'm wise to there games so actually pay more. But how can they get away with this? I've not read the T&C's for a while but I'm sure it said 2.5% or £5 which ever is the greater? How can they get away with changing the amount every month?

Last year I had £3000 on it and some months they were asking for £5!!! Can they do this?

Thanks
Phil

  • Virgin is either 1% or interest + £5 I think these days?

How are they playing games? you don't have to pay the minimums!

and if you get made reduntant you may be grateful for their generous T & C for a month or two!

Barclaycard did the same with me. I don't pay of just the minium each month.. so their chance in min repayment doesn't impact me. It's a non issue.
  • I'm not to fussed for myself as I pay over the mimimum, I just think they aren't consistant enough. Some people have to juggle money around every month to make ends meet, surely they have to make it a little easier for people.

As for being made reduntant I'm pretty save from that in my Job ;)

  • I hope you don't get made redundant!! but the unplanned can happen and screw us all over!! If things are getting easier (ie payments going down) then I don't think there's a case to answer! if they were putting the payments up then it would be a bit trickier I think!

There is no sound basis whatsoever for anyone to complain that their minimum payment is too low.
