TV Aerial Splitting

I need to run an aerial cable into my bedroom. The cable goes outside the bedroom to the room below, where it is used once in a while.
I know you can buy splitters 1-2 but do I use it outside or what?

I have only seen em inside. Probably would help to prevent water ingress, etc0

Mine's inside.0

You could use a distribution amp, examples are here.
You could pull the wire through into the bedroom and hook up to the amp. Then one of the outputs can follow the original path down, while the others outputs are available for additional receiving equipment.

You could also run an additional wire all the way from the aerial to the 2nd TV.

You might be able to get a wire down the inside wall from behind the upstairs skirting board (might be hard work)0 -
If you have a good signal then the cable can be split, but you need to be aware that by doing this you will be lowering the signal quality. If you live in an area that has a poor signal you would be better off buying a masthead amplifier with at least two outlets. This also requires a power supply. eg http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=36573&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=6&doy=3m10
