Touchpad mouse - should I just give up

Options
The touchpad mouse on my netbook is super sensitive, and especially when filling in forms online tends to go back a page or two all by itself. I have tried changing the settings, but to no avail. Shall I just give up and use a wireless mouse? this sort of defeats the object for me of having a tiny little computer if I then have to sit at a table so there's somewhere for the mouse to go.

What netbook is it? My asus is fine after I removed any touch pad software that came with it. My wifes laptop is sensitive too. Breathe on it, and the mouse cursor has some sort of spasm.

go to your control panel and mouse settings, the touch pad settings are there you can lower the senstivity

If you go to the laptop brands website they might have some touchpad drivers or external settings which will calm your cursor

I have an Aspire One, using it to write this, and the sensitivity settings do make a difference on mine. It was VERY hair trigger as supplied!
Have you clicked on "Synaptics Pointing Device" on the toolbar? Opened up "properties" then the + next to "sensitivity" then "touch sensitivity"? It should change the sensitivity, if not there might be a problem?
It suits me with the slider just left of centre.
