gettin married abroad

We got married in New york City, Central Park, 2001. Honeymooned in Florida.
Very easy to book. About £600 extra for wedding, flowers, photos and limo.
Try ringing the hotel you are thinking of staying at and ask them if they have arranged weddings for there guests. Some hotels have v. good staff that can do this and you will have a local contact on arrival. (poss free upgrade room aswell)
Details needed by city hall are passports and birth Certs. a few days before wedding.
As for New York Amazing city.0 -
we got married in the Moon Palace, Cancun Mexico, and contrary to what others here have said it was perfect. I think it depends on the time of year you go - we reasearched thoroughly and decided November was the best time - both weatherwise (it was gorgeous about 30 - 35 degrees), and the fact that this isn't too busy. There were very few weddings - 4 gazebos in all and only about 3 weddings the whole day - whereas in peak times the wedding planner told us they have weddings every hour at each gazebo!!
Also we had a private dinner on a terrace overlooking the sea - beautiful. We had our own waiter, bartender, we had enough food for about 50 (there were 10 of us!). It was a perfect day everything was gorgeous. If you want PM me your email and I could send you pictures. I would recommend it 100% and I've never regretted it for 1 second.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

In my previous post in this thread it was Moon Palace I was refering to. Nice to hear you got your meal privately with service. We must have just seen an unlucky few who had to share the restaurant with us honeymooners etc.
We loved the hotel so much we are going back next year after our mortgage is paid off.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I'm getting married in September and after having had a look at websites that organised weddings abroad decided where to go (Fiji). I asked a couple of the companies for quotes and managed to organise it myself bit by bit, for £1700 cheaper than they quoted me by dealing directly with the hotel and airlines. Also make sure you go on tripadvisor.com to read reviews of any possible hotels you may want to stay at!0

yeah will you can do that, but we decided to pay extra to have a private meal £400 for everything - thought that was really reasonable considering thes ervice we got!
when were you there? I loved it we're going back for our 5th anniversary, it was fantastic.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Ah I see. I'd have paid extra too. We were there from 21st May 2001 for 2 weeks. (We have just had our 5th anniversary) We loved it too. Would recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to go back:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
